Apps to Go
Creative Direction / UI Design / UX Design
Apps to Go is a suite of lightweight (single-purpose) apps aimed at making IBM’s internal learning network more dynamic, accessible and actionable for an enhanced level of engagement.
There was a distinct opportunity with this initiative to impact the way IBMers engaged with the company at a cultural level. We created a mobile-first experience that can infuse behavior change from anywhere. This particular app titled "Made with IBMers" tells their "Made with…" stories in an engaging, dynamic and social way that creates interesting content, worthy of return visits.
IBMers were selected to participate in an in-person interview and usability test for the "Made with IBMers" mobile application. During the sessions, we combined usability testing practices with elements of focus group testing. The former told us whether the app works and how to improve it on a functional level, the latter helped us make the content of the app more appealing for IBMers.
We needed to vet our current assumptions about how appealing the apps would be, and unearth ways to make a stronger connection with IBMers. By observing IBMers perform the basic functions of the app, it allowed us to fine-tune the flow. Participants were asked to complete tasks and share their impressions of various aspects of the prototype.
